One of my favorites is Of Curses and Kisses by Sandhya Menon, it’s a YA retelling of Beauty and the Beast set at a boarding school!
Charlie Donlea’s The Suicide House was amazing.
I just realized that I don’t read many books with a school setting. Of the two that I read this year, I’d say that The Black Kids by Christina Hammonds Reed is probably my current favorite, followed closely by Excuse Me While I Ugly Cry by Joya Goffney.
I really enjoyed the House of Night books by PC and Kristin Cast. vampire high school counts right?
Carrie by Stephen King, at least I think that counts as a school setting for the most part
Catherine House by Elizabeth Thomas
The first one that came to mind was a book from my childhood, Sideways Stories from Wayside School, by Louis Sachar. I loved it when I was young, and I enjoyed it all over again with my daughter when she read it to me over the summer when she first decided to tackle chapter books.
Seanan McGuire’s Wayward Children series!
13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher. Very heavy
Harry Potter of course!
Hands down, it has to be Harry Potter!
From Grade School days - The Magic School Bus series!!!
