I give books that I have finished to my sister and her daughter (my niece). Once they are finished with them, they pass them on to others. Sometimes I give a book to my friend, or put it in a Little Free Library.

I usually keep the books that are favorite and meaningful to me for future re-reading or for display on a bookshelf. At times I will donate books to a local library, school, or charity. This way, other people can enjoy the book and it won’t go to waste. Besides, some books are too old or a little damaged, so I will recycle them, crafting with them to make household items.

I’m a bibliophile. I generally don’t buy or acquire a book unless I want to keep it. But if I don’t care for the book, I will sell it, trade it, give it to my book club friends, leave it in a Little Free Library or donate it to Goodwill. In the latter case, I make sure to get one of those tax donation forms. I hope I can get a substantial deduction on my taxes next year.
