Friday Question #176 - Thriller Recs for a New Reader

Happy Friday!

If you could only recommend one thriller to a reader new to the genre, what would it be?

I would recommend It by Stephen King.

Stephen King’s, ‘Thinner’, is also a very good start for those looking to see if the thriller genre is good for them. Don’t bother to read, ‘The Mist’, by Stephen King, it is a let-down. Oddly the movie was better.
Nevada Barr’s, book ‘Borderline’ (Anna Pigeon, #15), is quite harrowing, an exciting scary chase taking place in Big Bend NP, Texas.
Sorry, I couldn’t stop at one book.

It really depends on the reader. Thriller is such a broad genre. I would recommend the Orphan X series by Gregg Andrew Hurwitz or The Fourth Monkey series by J.D. Barker. However, if you can’t tolerate fight scenes or gore and want more of a psychological thriller then I’d probably go with All the Dangerous Things by Stacy Willingham.
