Can I get a mystery recommendation please?

I did it!
So, better if I translate the titles:
King Solomon’s ring by Conrad Lorenz for the alliteration because in Italy is “l’anello di re Salomone”;
Black Order by James Rollins as jolly;
Wisteria Lodge by Arthur Conan Doyle for “the title begins with W”;
Pebble in the Sky by Isaac Asimov (my fav author);
Arabian Nights for the purple cover

I read also “Picnic at Hanging Rock” by Johan Linsday
And now I’m reading “sunbird” by Wilbur Smith

I am looking for a mystery recommendation. Thinking about The Maid. Had anyone read In the Crypt with a Candlestick?
Thanks!

Hi rmarcin -

I have not read In the Crypt with a Candlestick. I posted a few recommendations above earlier though and The Maid was one of them. I’ll copy and paste the list here for you. Hope you find one you like. Could you please add a rec for me too?

I have read several of these in your list, thanks for sending it! There are some I will be adding to my list. Be sure to read the new Cosimano book: Finlay Donovan Knocks 'Em Dead.
You might also enjoy Stephen Spotswood’s Pentecost and Parker mysteries. There are 2 in the series so far. They reminded me of old-time mysteries, i.e. Sam Spade. In order:
Fortune Favors the Dead (2020)
Murder Under Her Skin (2021)
Happy Reading!

Thanks! I definitely plan to read Finlay Donovan Knocks 'Em Dead, but it doesn’t publish until Feb 1st. I suppose I could get it from NetGalley, but I requested my library get it and I have the first hold when it comes in. I figured since we’re so close to February, I should probably wait for it. I will check out Fortune Favors the Dead. It looks good!

Bingo! I’ve been having a really good reading month :slight_smile:
