I’ve started trying to read through the 1,001 Books to Read Before You Die. So for that list my TBR is a few from that list at a time, plus some others:

-The Furrows
-The Final Gambit
-A Boy’s Own Story
-1Q84

My January TBR is still a bit unorganized, but I hope to read The Angel Maker, Yellow Wife, The Love Hypothesis, The Diamond Eye, I’m Glad My Mom Died, and Josh and Gemma the Second Time Around.

I’d like to focus on some digital arcs I have, including Good for a Girl, All the Dangerous Things, Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone, What Lies in the Woods, The Second You’re Single, and Maame. I’m also hoping to get off the library holds list for A Fatal Glow, Before I Let Go, and Drunk on Love. Here’s to starting off the year with a big reading month!

Thanks SO much for posting the January Bingo a couple weeks early! It was very helpful to be able to start researching and compiling a list for next month. It’s such an improvement over just having a day or two to get a reading strategy outlined and ready to go! So now, here is my early TBR list to kick off the new year:

Throwing Back The Chair (Phil Bova)
We Have Always Lived In The Castle (Shirley Jackson)
The Paying Guests (Sarah Waters)
Every Last Lie (Mary Kubica)
City Under The City (Dan Yaccarino)
A World Of Curiosities (Louise Penny)
Mercury Pictures Presents (Anthony Marra)

I’m so glad this is just my January TBR because I think I would run out of characters LONG before I get anywhere near the end of my actual TBR list. So, in my on-deck circle for January, including the books I plan to read for my BookishFirst Bingo Card (I’m still looking for books to fill the Mistaken Identity and Heroine in the STEM Field squares, so suggestions are definitely welcome), I have the following books:

The Book of Koli by M. C. Carey (First in a Series)
The Jasmine Throne by Tashi Suri (Title Begins with a J)
The Wild Ones by Nafiza Azad (New-to-You Author)
Kitsune: A Little Mermaid Retelling by Nicolette Andrews (Meant to Read in 2022)
Shadows of Dust by Alec Huston (Published in January - January 3, 2020)
The House at the Edge of Magic by Amy Sparkes (Property in Inherited)
City of Light by Will Wight (Silver or Gold on the Cover)
Small Town Pride by Phil Stamper (Set in a Small Town)
Hatched, Dragon Farmer by Caren Hahn (Fictional Setting)
Tongue Eater by John Bierce (Multilingual Protagonist)
An Unkindness of Ghosts by Rivers Solomon (Debut Book)
Dark Rise by C. S. Pacat (Free Space)
The Once and Future Witches by Alix E. Harrow (American History)
The Unbroken by C. L. Clarke (One Person on the Cover)
The Magical Imperfect by Chris Baron (Body Positivity Theme)
The Girl Who Saved Christmas by Matt Haig (Borrowed from the Library)
Mercury’s Shadow by P. J. Garcin (Punctuation in the Title)
The Enchanter by Tobias Begley (Picked Up for the Cover)
Humble Pi: When Math Goes Wrong in the Real World by Matt Parker (Non-Fiction)
Autoboyography by Christina Lauren (First Book Read in 2023)
Wrath Goddess Sing by Maya Deane (Title Begins with a W)
Stone Bound by Eric T. Knight
Girls of Might and Magic by Various Authors (Short Story Anthology)
Ivy Aberdeen’s Letter to the World by Ashley Herring Blake
Six Crimson Cranes by Elizabeth Lim
The Goose Girl by Shannon Hale
Horror in the House of Mirrors by Tommy Krappweis
The Way Past Winter by Kiran Millwood Hargrave
Raybearer by Jordan Ifueko
Timekeeper by Tara Sim
And if I finish those before the end of the month (because I usually read 35-50 books each month), then I have the following in the queue as well:
Flash Fire by T.J. Klune
A Snicker of Magic by Natalie Lloyd
The Lord of Stariel by A. J. Lancaster
Never After: The Thirteenth Fairy by Melissa de la Cruz
The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Makenzi Lee
Scarlet Odyssey by C. T. Rwizi

Honestly my TBR is so long in GoodReads, saved on “To Read” shelf of my local library’s website, and what I’ve already have downloaded on my Kindle. I’m usually prioritizing Kindle Unlimited books before I end my subscription next month.

So I’m thinking to start with:

Breaking And Entering (Nancy O’Toole)
The Six (Anni Taylor)
Justice (Dustin Stevens)

I’m a mood reader so I never have a set TBR, but I’m hoping to get the chance to finish up Ali Hazelwood’s novella series (I only read the first one!), and finish my reread of Legendborn so I can finally start Bloodmarked!!

My goal for Jan is to finish reading 20 books.

I plan to finish several book I started reading in 2022: Unseelie by Ivelisse Housman, Skye Falling by Mia McKenzie, A Wizard of Earthsea by Ursula K. Le Guin, and Amulet of Wishes by Rita A. Rubin.

I plan to start (and finish): The Hermes Protocol by Chris M. Arnone, The Lost Continent by Tui T. Sutherland, The Past and Other Things That Should Stay Buried by Shaun David Hutchinson, Brave Face by Shaun David Hutchinson, and Roxy by Neal Shusterman and Jarrod Shusterman.

From there I’ll see what I have on the bingo board and read stuff to fill in a bingo.
