Welcome Back to the Forum Party šŸ„³

Skyhunter is one of my next buys. I love Marie Luā€™s writing style and stories

Iā€™m gmolson and the best book I read when the forum was down was A Borrowed Life by Kerry Anne King. A book Iā€™m looking forward to reading is The Orphan Collector by Ellen Marie Wiseman.

We just read Little Fires Everywhere for our book club

@natosha120 - I love crochet books too as well as books on pastels and watercolor although Iā€™m not super good at any of them.

I certainly hope so! I have high hopes for what I want to happen, so I really hope it meets my expectations. Iā€™m definitely invested in the fate of the characters and the universe in the book though! Iā€™m very hopeful it can be just as good, if not better, than book one.

I love craft/nonfiction books too! I so rarely hear/read other people who like these types of books Iā€™m so glad you said you did (and that you consider it reading since I of course do too but my friends always tell me craft books donā€™t count as reading! Now I have proof or at least someone who agrees to show them it is!) thank you! Any good craft books youā€™d recommend?!

Iā€™m Lindsay. The best book Iā€™ve won here is The Unwilling. I just bought the book in the Clearing so Iā€™m excited to start that book ASAP! Hope everyone is staying healthy and happy!

Yes! Absolutely. Letā€™s do Spain!! I was so intrigued by the places in Finding Hemingway that I wrote about them in my book review on my blog. Hereā€™s everywhere I want to go: https://booksteahealthyme.home.blog/2020/08/13/book-review-finding-hemingway-by-ken-dortzbach/

Itā€™s really good but SO long!! Over 700 pages. I loved the audiobook of Crave so I have requested the audiobook of Crush from my local library. Hoping they get a copy.

 At first, I felt the same way. However, Iā€™ve noticed that many of the publications Iā€™ve loved are creators of plenty crafting books and many more that help guide through a few steps or just images, meant for inspiration and just spark ideas without any words. Like those coffee table books. Now I just think, if it has been published, has a front and back cover, and something inside, itā€™s good as considering it to be a real book.

I really love to tell you that the books I did enjoy much of the different crafting guided books and ones to learn something new for a hobby, would be those by QuatroKnows publications. They have ones from their Quatro Create line that is full of interesting books on art that is easy and simple to follow. From the books, I get a clear view and find they supply a simpler understanding of the craft for beginners as well as those who have been doing it for a long time. Plus, plenty of books from drawing, painting, lettering, crochet, sewing, knitting, and so on.

Another, I did enjoy is Schiffer Books, they are great art style books and plenty are full of just photos. Very nicely designed books that look like you went to a museum of art to get. However, the steps and way the books are can be a bit difficult for beginners, but not all just they seem to be more for those who already know the crafts verse those starting out.

Also, Zakka Books are great for new ideas, but again they tend to be quite different in the setup with their books. They mainly do much sewing and quilting style books. There is little of other things, but Iā€™ve noticed they are slowly adding new art style books to their line. This brand with the sewing and quilting books tend to be a bit harder, in my opinion. I donā€™t like that the patterns are in the back while the images for each area in the front. Itā€™s a bit confusing and much flipping back and forth, but I think itā€™s just Iā€™m not used to the style of how this book is created.

I do know of a few others, but mainly Quatro Knows is a wonderful place for so many crafting books and designs to learn from. Additionally, I just love their books on sewing, crocheting, knitting, and just mainly so many crafting books that those starting out on a new hobby or need a clearer view of how too, they are well designed and clearly illustrated and explained.

A few from Quatro Knows was part of their create section, Quatro Creates:
10 Granny Squares 30 Bags

First Time Sewing with a Serger
Twinkie Chanā€™s Crocheted Abode a la Mode
Melissa Leapmanā€™s Indispensable Stitch Collection for Crocheters
Sewing Shirts with a Perfect Fit
and plenty more! However, if I could, Iā€™d like all there crafting books as they are so very nicely designed and just looks so beautiful to create the projects insideā˜ŗ

Hi! Iā€™m Michelle from Orlando, FL. Iā€™ve missed the Forum, although Iā€™m more of a lurker than a chatter. =) Iā€™ve read so many great books lately, but I think my recent favorite has been Lexicon by Max Berry. Such an interesting and different book! Loved it. Iā€™ve got so many that I want to read, but one that Iā€™m really looking forward to is a biography of one of my musical legends, Chris Cornell. Itā€™s called Total F*ing Godhead and itā€™s just waiting for me to crack it open!

What did you think of it? I thought this book was great and I actually really liked the show as well. Usually I HATE a visual production after reading the book, but in this case I thought it was really well done and I enjoyed it so much.

Congrats on the 5k! Thatā€™s awesome. I need to get a bit more activity these days! =)

Best book since the Forum has been down: Spectre Deep 6 by Jennifer Brody
Excited to read soon: Pumpkinheads by Rainbow Rowell (it was on sale! yay!)

Same here! I hate to DNF, sometimes I will just sit it down for awhile and come back to it with a better outlook! I love The Host!

I need to get my hands on The Year of the Witching!

My name is Rebecca but I also go by Becca (or Becas in Portugal). I havenā€™t been able to do much reading because Iā€™ve been helping my boyfriendā€™s kids with school stuff and Iā€™ve been working, but when I do get a chance to read, Iā€™ve been rereading my favorite book Breaking the Silence by Diane Chamberlain. Iā€™m looking forward to reading a few different books, including Chosen Ones by Veronica Roth, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes (A Hunger Games Novel) by Suzanne Collins, and Midnight Sun by Stephanie Meyer.

Bummed I missed the live chatting BUT Iā€™ll play catch up.

Iā€™m Holly or @themomwithabook on social. Since the forum has been down, Iā€™ve loved Majesty by Katharine McGee! I could reread that one over and over.

What Iā€™m most excited for is actually what I just started, The Return by Nicholas Sparks! And Iā€™m plowing right through it! After that, I think Iā€™m most excited for In a Holidaze by Christina Lauren!

Canā€™t wait to catch up with you all! Hope youā€™re staying healthy and well!
